The Minish Cap: Tiger Scrolls

You may feel as though your inventory will save you no matter what challenges await, but what will help even more (as well as beating the game slightly faster), are Tiger Scrolls. To get them, you must train with one of the swordmasters in Hyrule. They'll teach you certain techniques that may be helpful during your adventures. Though they aren't necessary, they are are recommended for any hero who has some time to spare.

Link Dash Attack

Images with "Zelda Dimension" embeded on them are archived from our old site. We're still in the process of obtaining new pictures to replace them.

Swordmaster #1 :: Swiftblade

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Spin Attack
Location:
Hyrule Town
Where to obtain:
In the beginning of your adventure, you can acquire this technique by visiting the local swordmaster, Swiftblade. To use this attack, simply charge your sword, and let go. You'll spin in a circle with your sword.

Swordmaster #2 :: Swiftblade

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Sword Beam
Location:
Hyrule Castle Garden
Where to obtain:
In the garden below Hyrule Castle, cut away the grass on the east side, and go down the ladder. Inside lies Grimblade, whom will teach you the attack that is like the one in other 2D Zelda games: the Sword Beam. Like what I mentioned above, you can only shoot the beam if you have full health.

Swordmaster #3 :: Grayblade

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Dash Attack
Location:
Hyrule Town
Where to obtain:
Get the Pegasus Boots from Rem in his shoe store and then head over to Swiftblade once again. This time, he'll teach you an attack in which you run with the boots, while having your sword out.

Swordmaster #4 :: Swiftblade

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Peril Beam
Location:
Lake Hylia
Where to obtain:
Ever play any other 2D Zelda game? This attack is much like the beam that shoots out of your sword when you have full health, except this attack is different, as instead of having full health to shoot the beam, you must have one heart (or lower). Waveblade lives in a tree near Mayor Hagen's cabin in Lake Hylia. Simply go to Mayor Hagen's cabin, then jump in the water to the west, and continue swimming west (past the Heart Container, if you haven't already gotten it) until you reach land. Finding the tree from there isn't hard.

Swordmaster #5 :: Waveblade

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Rock Breaker
Location:
Hyrule Town
Where to obtain:
After you've upgraded your sword to the White Sword, visit Swiftblade again and you shall receive a new technique. This one allows you to break rocks and vases with your sword, as oppose to picking them up and throwing them.

Swordmaster #6 :: Grimblade

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Roll Attack
Location:
Mount Crenel
Where to obtain:
After learning how to clone yourself, visit Grayblade living inside a cave in Mount Crenel. This technique allows you to roll and then swing your sword before your roll is completely finished.

Swordmaster #7 :: Swiftblade

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Down Thrust
Location:
Hyrule Town
Where to obtain:
The last attack that Swiftblade teaches is taught after you've gotten the the Roc's Cape. Using the Roc's Cape, jump, and before you land, bring our your sword and you'll pound the sword into the ground.

Swordmaster #8 :: Swiftblade I

Tiger Scroll
Technique Taught:
Great Spin Attack
Location:
Castor Wilds
Where to obtain:
After getting all other seven Tiger Scrolls, go to the south-west side of Castor Wilds. The Great Spin Attack is much like the one in The Wind Waker. It's basically a longer, much-wider-ranged, spin attack.

Hidden Swordmaster #1 :: Scarblade

Technique Taught:
Faster Spin Attack Charge
Location:
Castor Wilds
Where to obtain:
The first of the three hidden swordmasters is behind a waterfall (like the others) in Castor Wilds. He'll teach you how to charge your Spin Attack faster. To enter his cave in the waterfall, fuse a Kinstone with Grayblade (in Mount Crenel).

Hidden Swordmaster #2 :: Splitblade

Technique Taught:
Faster Split Gauge
Location:
Veil Falls
Where to obtain:
The second hidden swordmaster is located behind a waterfall in Veil Falls. To get there, fuse a Kinstone with Grimblade (in Hyrule Castle Garden). Splitblade will teach you how to fill the gauge used to clone yourself, faster.

Hidden Swordmaster #3 :: Greatblade

Technique Taught:
Faster Great Spin Attack Charge
Location:
North Hyrule Field
Where to obtain:
The last swordmaster is located behind a waterfall in North Hyrule Field. To access his cave, fuse a Kinstone with Waveblade (in Lake Hylia). Greatblade will teach you how to make your Great Spin Attack last longer.
